The Start of the Seat Restoration
Here's the seat off of my old SL90 as I started to disassemble it. The bike obviously sat outside for a number of years, and rain has taken a toll on the foam and metal seat pan - the left edge of the pan near the nose has some bad rust. Fortunately, the rest held up pretty well and it can be saved.
Here's the seat pan and foam. The foam will be used to create a new foam base. The pan will be powdercoated and a new edge built-up.
When I took off the seat, I could see a vinyl tool bag behind the battery side cover. Sure enough, the complete original toolkit was still there.
