Back to Work... Gas Tank Dent Removal

The gas tank for the red SL90 project is in good shape (no leaks), but had some dents that needed to be ironed out.  The photos show the gas tank after the dents have been pulled out using the "welding" method where a stud is welded to the dented area and used to pull the dent out.

The worst area was on the front left side (facing forward) of the gas tank (see photo below).  This was the same place were the blue SL90 gas tank was dented.  Is this the side were most of the crash/drop/dings occur on an Sl90?

When the welded stud is removed, it leaves a "pock" mark that will need to be filled and smoothed.  In these photos, the pulled area has been ground down a little to smooth the pock marks and get it ready for metal filler.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I managed to find a NOS SL90 wiring harness (below).  I will use this to replace the wiring harness on the blue SL90 and use the old blue SL90 harness for the red Sl90 project.  The blue sl90 harness works fine, but it does not look as good as the NOS harness and I want the blue SL90 to be as "new" looking as possible.
